YOUR CHOICE

I am assigning a book of your choice for you to read and write about.  Please choose a book at your level and one that is interesting to you and written in English.   You may choose a book from the library or use one you have at home.

*****Take your ESOL Notebook from the ESOL classroom so you have your notes about the 6-Traits Writing skills. *****

Tuesday:

For each day:

Write the vocabulary words you are unfamiliar with as you read.  At the end of the chapter, write the definitions for those words and use each word in a sentence.  I would like to know if you were able to understand the meaning of the words by using clues in the story or if you had to find the definition of the words in a dictionary.

2.  Write short essay about the chapters you read.  Be sure to follow the 6-Traits Writing skills you are studying in ESOL.  Each essay should have a thesis, introduction, body, and conclusion.  Please use the unfamiliar vocabulary words in your essay.

3. Have fun!

I don’t think this assignment will be too difficult for you but if you have any questions, please e-mail me at pfury@aisbmali.org or bporter@aisbmali.org
